Delco Books for a Brighter Start is a community-driven book drive working to put books directly into the hands of children who need them most.

We focus on young children in Delaware County from low-income households. By partnering with Head Start and other community resources, we work to ensure every child has a chance to build a home library and a love of reading.

Early Access to books shapes a child's future. Children who are read to regularly before kindergarten start school better prepared, and even 10 books at home can make a measurable difference in language development and academic success. Studies show that 61% of low-income households have no children's books at all. We're working to close that gap, one home library at a time.
